Furry Friends Records · a small tribute label

Their story deserves a film — and a soundtrack.

Short films of a real life — yours and theirs. You send the photos, the videos, the memories only you have. We write and produce their songs, score the film with them, and press the whole thing to vinyl. You co-produce it with us — your memories, your footage, your call on every frame and every line. Your name goes on the sleeve as co-producer, because it belongs there.

Why we made this label

A collar in a drawer is not a memorial.

When they go, you are left holding the strangest inheritance: a bent slat in the blinds, a route around the block, a name you still say out loud in an empty kitchen. The details are the love. They are also the first thing that fades.

So we make the thing that lets a detail move again. We set their name, their ridiculous habits, the hour they waited at the window to songs, and cut those moments into a film you can return to and hand to someone else.

Every film starts the same way: someone remembering out loud.
How it works

Four steps, and only one of them is yours.

You spend about fifteen minutes telling us about them and sharing photos or short videos. We spend the next three days making the film and its soundtrack.

01

Tell their story

A guided questionnaire, written by people who have done this, plus the photos and short videos only you have. Tell us how they came into your life, the specific memories, the quirks, the goodbye if you want it there, and how you want the film to feel.

02

We write their songs

Your words become original songs — real names, real numbers, real habits. Nothing generic gets through: we do not start the cut until the film carries specifics only you could have given us.

03

You approve every song and cut

You hear two takes of each song and see each cut in a private review page. Change a line, change a title, change the whole feel. You co-produce the film with us, and nothing is final until you say yes.

04

Delivered as a film, digital and on vinyl

Every tier delivers a film and its soundtrack on a private page. The vinyl is pressed to order and ships after — sleeve front is their portrait, sleeve back is their story.

Good Boy the Whole Way — songs for Gus

Three songs made from one questionnaire: a golden retriever mix, thirteen years, adopted for seventy dollars. Select a track to read from its lyric sheet.

Track one — the rescue

What the songs actually carry
“He cost seventy dollars. He was worth everything.”

From the liner notes of the Gus EP — written from Rachel M.’s own words: the last kennel on the left, a face between bent blinds at 5:15, a stolen rotisserie chicken, an unasked guard outside a nursery door, and one last drive with the windows down.

She asked for one thing: “I don’t want it to be only sad. He was a ridiculous, happy dog. I want to remember the whole life, not just the last day.” So the record opens grinning and only turns tender at the end. That instruction is a field in the questionnaire, because it is the field that matters most.

Specific, or it does not ship

Every lyric sheet is checked against a ledger of details taken from your answers. Fewer than four of your own specifics in a song and it goes back to be rewritten. “You were my best friend” is not a lyric; “the blinds still hold your shape” is.

Dogs and cats, equally

A cat film has a different soundtrack: quieter arrangements, sharper humour, the specific dignity of an animal who chose you on their own terms. Same questionnaire, different production notes.

We are new, and we say so

Furry Friends Records is a young label. We do not show borrowed press logos or invented review counts. The Gus EP is the work we have, so it is the work we show — cover art, lyric sheets, liner notes, delivery page, all of it.

The promise

Nothing is pressed until you love it.

You approve every song

Two takes per track, and revisions until it sounds like them. Mastering and pressing only start after your written yes.

Love-it guarantee

If the songs never land the way you needed them to, we rewrite from scratch once. If it still is not right, you are refunded in full and you keep the drafts.

Your story stays yours

Your answers, photos, and videos are used for your film only. Nothing is published, resold, or used as marketing unless you offer it. Gus is on this page because Rachel asked us to keep him here.

Held orders welcome

If they are still with you and you are preparing, tell us. We will hold the questionnaire and produce when you are ready.

Questions people actually ask

Straight answers, including the awkward one.

Is this AI music?

Honest answer: the lyrics are written from your words, and the recordings are produced with modern music tools, including AI generation for the performance. Every film and soundtrack is reviewed by a human before you see or hear it, and every lyric line is edited by a person against the details you gave us.

What we will never do is hand you something generic. If the song does not contain the specifics only you could have told us, it does not go out. That standard is the product; the tools are just how it gets made in three days instead of three months.

How long does it take?

First drafts of every song reach you within about 48 hours of your questionnaire. With one approval round, mastered files are typically in your hands on day three. Vinyl is pressed to order after approval and ships separately, usually inside two to three weeks.

Can I change the lyrics if something is wrong?

Yes, and people often do — a date, a nickname, the order of events. You get revisions until it is right. Small corrections usually come back the same day, and a full rewrite of a track is included.

What if I do not know what to write?

The questionnaire does the work. It asks small, answerable things: what did they do when you came home, what were they scared of, what did they steal. You do not need to write well. Fragments are better than paragraphs.

Cats too? Older pets who are still here?

Cats, dogs, and the occasional horse. Plenty of films are made while the animal is still alive, as a birthday or adoption-anniversary tribute, which is a much happier questionnaire to fill out.

What exactly arrives?

A private streaming page with the mastered tracks, cover art, liner notes and your photos; WAV and MP3 downloads; and, on EP and box-set tiers, the pressed vinyl with the artwork on the front and their story on the back. You can see the whole delivery on the Gus EP page.
